Since AALI’s inception in 1998 we have worked with the power of law; its knowledge, proper use and implementation, as our tool for social change. Our primary activity is to collate, create and disseminate evidence based and practical knowledge of the law and on human right concerns and law with a focus on gender equality and inclusion as our vision for an egalitarian social system which can only be achieved with the enhanced capacities of women to assert and exercise their rights and a robust state mechanism to facilitate access to justice. For this, the Resource Center prepares and disseminates IEC Material in Hindi and English, organizes workshops for a range of State and Non-State actors, conducts research on the human rights concerns of women for a socio-legal perspective. At present we have a national resource at Lucknow and 3 rural resource centers at Azamgarh, Varanasi, and Faizabad. Most importantly the Resource Center carries our rigorous evidence-based advocacy by sharing critical information pertaining to the implementation of women’s human rights, as well as oppressions of those rights, with the State, Judiciary, Media, National and International Human Rights Institutions. Cost of running National Resource Centre for one month is Rs. 1.2 lakhs and it includes: development and dissemination of IEC Material, access to reading material, subscriptions to online databases and journals, communications, design and printing, travel, photographer, exposure visits, costs for workshop, costs of advocacy meetings, maintenance cost for library, other miscellaneous expenses, etc. Cost to run the National Resource Center for one month – Rs. 1.2 lacs Cost to run the National Resource Center for one day – Rs. 4,000
